Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League Final

Carrickmacross 3-20 Inniskeen 1-9

Carrickmacross completed their second Intermediate double of this decade and their third since 2006 when they ran out convincing winners over 14-man Inniskeen in last Sunday’s IFL Final in ideal conditions in Corduff. Carrick set the tone by racing into a 1-4 to 0-0 lead and although Inniskeen came into the game in the second quarter, they couldn’t avoid a second consecutive defeat in this fixture, albeit with promotion already secured this time. Stephen Gollogly was in superb form for Carrick, kicking nine points, while Stephen O’Hanlon, Aaron Lynch and substitute Aaron Jones all found the net. Goal-scorer Dónal Meegan was the stand-out performer for Inniskeen.
