UNIVERSAL GRAPHICS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL.

Currin 1-13, Eire Og 0-12.

Currin staged a very effective resurgence in the final 20 minutes of this match to come from being 2 points down 5 minutes into the 2nd half to booking their place in the final at the expense of an Eire Og side who acquitted themselves well but failed to build on the momentum they created towards the end of the 1st half and in the early minutes of the second-half. Played in difficult conditions this was an even enough contest in the first half as Currin got off to a great start to register four early points but Eire Og gradually settled and with the accuracy of Conor Leonard, who hit some superb points, and Michael Tierney from frees, they had drawn level by the break but effectively should have been in front. Eire Og opened a 2 points lead in the early minutes of the second-half but Currin, who had failed to convert a 1sthalf penalty gradually regained their composure to outscore their opponents by 1-5 to 0-2 from the 7th minute of the second-half onwards to run out winners by 4 points. Currin finished the game with 14 players after Dick Clerkin was sent off on a second yellow card ten minutes from the end.
