McElvaney Waste & Recycling Intermediate Football Championship Semi-Final

Aughnamullen 1-8 Toome 0-9                                             23/9/17

Aughnamullen booked their place in a first IFC Final since 1997 when they battled past Toome in Inniskeen last Saturday. Wind-assisted Aughnamullen got off to a flying start, with Micheál Bannigan leading their attack and turning provider for Seán Sheridan to score the only goal. Toome grew into the game as the first half wore on and they went on to put Aughnamullen under pressure after the restart, but the Sarsfields’ defence stood firm to get them through to a clash with Carrickmacross on Sunday week (October 15).
