UNIVERSAL GRAPHICS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL.

Sean McDermotts 2-21, Clones 1-9.

A sharper, more clinical Sean McDermotts experienced little difficulty in booking their place in the final of the Junior football championship when they proved too potent for a disappointing Clones in what turned out to be a quite one sided affair, particularly in the second-half, in Scotstown on Saturday evening last the 16th of September. Sean McDermotts also mastered the difficult conditions that saw persistent rain particularly in the second-half, to better effect, with more assured handling and better support play. Sean McDermotts were never headed in the entire contest with the best that Clones achieved was being level at a point apiece after 3 minutes. Sean McDermotts led by 5 points at half-time and while Clones got that down to four in the opening minute of the second-half by the end of the 3rd quarter Sean McDermotts had pushed their lead out to 12 points, with 2 goals inside 2 minutes later in the second-half turning the game into a veritable rout.
