Currin 1-17 Clones 1-16                                                       19/8/17

Currin are through to the JFC semi-finals after they edged past Clones in a thrilling derby in Scotstown on Saturday. Currin raced into a 1-4 to 0-0 lead, with Jason McKiernan getting the goal and Jack McCarron starring, and although Clones eventually settled, the gap was eight points (1-11 to 0-6) at half-time. A goal from Adrian Alford (who finished with 1-8) kick-started the Clones comeback midway through the second half and they hit five unanswered points inside the last ten minutes to edge ahead for the first time. McCarron stepped up, however, with his tenth and 11th points of a productive evening, before a diving save by Fergal Connolly denied Cameron Dowds an added-time goal that would have stolen it for Clones, who will face Aghabog next Friday in Round 3B.
