Feile Na Nog

Well what a weekend as Feile visited our club and area. The action got underway on Friday evening with our U14 team taking to the field down at Donagh. While the results did not go our way, it was hard not be drawn in by the occasion and to see the effort and pride displayed by the team as they wore their club colours with pride. Friday evening also give us an opportunity to meet the club we would be hosting Grangenolvin. Saturday morning began with a celebratory parade through the village to mark the unique the event of hosting feile and was followed by another game at Pairc Mhuire, before moving on to Ballybay for the knock out stages of the competition. A busy day was wrapped up with a trip to the Athletic grounds to the Ulster semi final. With neither team progressing to the semi finals or finals on Sunday, it was time to say our good byes at the clubhouse, but it must be said, friendships and memories were made that will last a life time. A big thank you to everyone who made it such a special weekend for the club and community.

Action on the field

Well done to our senior side claimed a valuable league point with a draw against Oram, while the U16’s were also in winning form with a victory over Sean Mc Dermotts in the rescheduled league fixture. Indeed the U16’s are back in action again tonight as they travel to Shamrock park to take on Cremartin at 7:30pm. Our minors have returned to action after the break for exams and our U12’s will also be back out this Saturday when they welcome Killeevan to Pairc Mhuire at 12 noon. The U8’s will also get a run out on Saturday morning as they head to Cloghan for a Go-Games blitz.

Ulster Championship

So it wasn’t to be in the Ulster semi final for Monaghan as our attentions now turn to a trip to the Sunny South east to take on Wexford on July 8th at 3pm.
