U-16: Our U-16s kicked off the Cup section of the Division One league with a good win at home to Donaghmoyne last Thursday. A much-improved performance from the previous week’s loss to the same opponents saw Terence McDonald and Dylan Ballantine get things going with early goals. Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Terence and Dylan added points, but having seen several chances go untaken, our lads trailed by 1-8 to 2-3 at half-time. The Harps made a bright start to the second half, with substitute Deivydas Kaklauskas finding the net and Lochlainn Power, Oisín Fagan and Terence kicking points Luke Coyle fired home our fourth goal and with Lochlainn, Ógie, Oisín and Shay Cooney also on target in the final quarter, our lads closed out an entertaining 4-13 to 2-10 win. U-14: Our U-14 Division Five team booked a place in the championship final with an excellent win away to Carrickmacross last Sunday. Jake added a goal after the restart and with Gary and Luke adding points, we stayed ahead throughout, helped by some committed work in defence and a very composed performance in goals by Oisín Reilly. Luke lobbed in our third goal late on, while Mark McManus capped a great effort with a point that helped us secure a 3-7 to 1-10 win. The championship final is due to take place in early August, while we have a league game before that on Saturday week.
