John West Féile Peile na nÓg – Well what a brilliant weekend was had by one and all as Drumhowan  hosted Dunboyne from Meath last weekend. On the pitch there was a win over Tyholland and also had two heavy defeats to Michael Davitts Belfast and our visitors from Dunboyne. In the quarter final after an epic performance we went under to Laragh from Cavan by two late injury time points. However it was off the pitch that the weekend was a resounding success with some great friendships built up over the 3 days. Following the game on Saturday morning we had over 175 for breakfast in the Centre and later that evening both teams went to Armagh to support Monaghan preceded by a meal at Armagh City Hotel Thanks to everyone who helped over the weekend. To all who painted and cleaned up in the previous week, all those who cooked and helped in the kitchen and those who provided food and refreshments. A big thanks especially to our host families as without you it wouldn’t have been possible. Also to Top Oil for their generous sponsorship and all who contributed towards gear for the panel and to Barry Tomany who captured the whole weekend brilliantly on camera. Lastly we thank the Dunboyne club, players and supporters for their friendship and fun they brought to our club last weekend.

Training continues each Monday for U6-8 players at 7pm.

Speedy recovery to Conor Curran who unfortunately broke his arm in the match against Laragh on Saturday last in Feile. Hope to see him back on the pitch with the U12 and 14 sides as soon as possible.
