Club Previews (July 7-13)

Just a couple weeks ahead of their championship clash, Truagh and Donaghmoyne meet in the County Monaghan Credit Unions Senior Football League on Friday evening, while Monaghan Harps travel to Magheracloone and Killanny bid to build on their first win when they go to Castleblayney.

 

Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League leaders Carrickmacross host Tyholland on Friday, while second-placed Corduff are away to Blackhill. Toome face Doohamlet, while Cremartin will look to build on their good run of form when they play Aughnamullen. Emyvale and Inniskeen go head-to-head on Wednesday.

 

Eurotech Junior Football League front-runners Seán McDermotts make the short trip to Scotstown on Friday, while nearest challengers Currin and Clones are away to Éire Óg and Rockcorry, respectively, with Aghabog having home advantage against Oram in a repeat of last weekend’s championship encounter. Aghabog have another home game on Wednesday against Scotstown.

 

Silver Hill Farm Senior Hurling Championship holders Inniskeen chase a third consecutive win of the group stage when they host Monaghan Harps on Thursday, while the other game is between Carrickmacross and Clontibret.

 

The Platinum Tanks Reserve Football Leagues continue on Wednesday. Monaghan Harps are at home to Carrickmacross in Division 2B, while in Division Three, it’s Oram v Corduff and Truagh v Clontibret.

 

The Under-21 Division One qualifying round takes place on Sunday, when the fixtures are: Carrickmacross v Truagh; Clones v Scotstown; Corduff v Donaghmoyne; Emyvale v Latton; and the battle of the amalgamated sides, Patrick Emmets and Clann na nGael.

 

The Maguire Transport Minor Football Championships get underway on Tuesday, with the top two divisions merging. Top-flight leaders Inniskeen are up against Truagh, while Carrickmacross, Emyvale, Killanny, Magheracloone and Monaghan Harps have home games against Scotstown, Castleblayney, Latton, St. Tiarnach Sarsfields and St. Patrick’s, respectively.

 

The juvenile football and hurling competitions continue with games at Under-16, Under-14 and Under-12 levels.
