TG4 Ladies Ulster Senior Football Championship Semi-Final

Cavan v Monaghan, Saturday, 7.00, Galbally

Monaghan’s senior ladies will hope to follow in the footsteps of the men when they take on Cavan in the Ulster championship on Saturday.

This is a repeat of last year’s final, which Monaghan won to return to the top of the provincial tree. Monaghan needed back-to-back wins over Armagh to retain their NFL Division One status this spring, while Cavan got to the Division Two Final, where they lost to Westmeath after a replay. Donegal await in the final after their comeback victory over Armagh last weekend.

Monaghan, who lost narrowly to Cork at the All-Ireland semi-final stage last year, will hope that the Courtney and McAnespie sisters, Cathriona McConnell, Caoimhe Mohan and Gráinne McNally can lead their challenge, with Aisling Doonan, Ailish Cornyn, Sinéad Greene, Donna English and Mona Sheridan central to Cavan’s chances.
