Seán McDermotts held off a late comeback to win their JFC derby against Scotstown in Emyvale. Goals from Mark McGuigan and top scorer Adam O’Driscoll helped the Seáns open up a comfortable 2-10 to 0-5 half-time lead, with Niall Kearns and Páraic McGuirk also to the fore for the Threemilehouse men.

Goalkeeper Conor Forde converted four points from frees and ‘45s to keep Scotstown in touch and when Jamie McCarey found the net late on, they had their deficit down to two points, but the Seáns held on to advance to the next round.
