Youth Affairs

Currin U12’s travelled to Toome on Saturday last and put in a really strong second half to come away with a good win on a scoreline of 7 06 to 2 07.

Patrick Emmets Under 14’s, after a shaky start, got on top of a determined Clan na Gael side and ran out convincing winners in the end in Scotshouse last Saturday. That’s seven wins from seven and we sit three points clear with a game in hand. Our next outing will be in the Championship semi-final in Toome on 8th July against Clan na Gael, followed by a League game on Saturday 22 July in Doohamlet, both starting at 12 noon. This weekend the attention turns to Feile, and we wish all the best of luck.

Patrick Emmett’s Under 16’s, rescheduled game v Castleblayney has been conceded by Castleblayney.

Training continues on Saturday mornings for U6’s, U8’’s I10’s and U12’s from 9:30 to 10:30am, unless games are scheduled. All new members very welcome and parents are encouraged to become involved in training and helping at Go Games events. If you would like to get involved please speak to Fintan McPhillips.

Feile

It’s finally here!!: The National Feile Under 14 football competition will be held over this coming weekend. Patrick Emmet’s will be playing at Threemilehouse on Friday afternoon at 4pm and 5pm and in Aghabog on Saturday morning at 11am. We will be playing in Denn in Cavan on Saturday afternoon but the competition (Cup or Shield) will be determined by the results from the earlier games. We have been drawn in the group with Sean MacDiarmada and teams from Carlow and Wexford. Patrick Emmets, (Currin & Aghabog) will be hosting a team from Carlow, O’Hanrahan’s which won their county competition to compete in this event. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the O’Hanrahan’s players, mentors, families and supporters to Monaghan and to wish them every good wish for their participation in the National competition. It is no exaggeration to say that some of the stars of the future, that we will be going to see for many years to come, will be gracing Monaghan Cavan and Fermanagh this coming weekend. Currin GFC would

also like to encourage as many members as possible to come out and support our team and the event over Friday afternoon and Saturday, and maybe even the finals on Sunday. The Saturday games will be finished well in time to allow travel to the Ulster SFC Semi Final in Armagh.

Cul Camps

The ‘Early Bird’ Competition to incentivise and encourage early booking for this Summer’s Cúl Camps closes this Friday, 23rd June. The Cul Camps are fantastic and early booking ensures you get your ‘pack’ without a hitch. Pass the word around.

Seniors

Our senior team played the Sean’s in another ‘Star’ game last night, Wednesday, in Scotshouse.

Matt Rehill, R.I.P.

Currin GFC would like to offer our condolences to the Rehill family, Aughareagh, Scotshouse on the recent death of Matt Rehill, R.I.P. The Rehill family have always been great supporters of our club and are highly respected in the community. Matt took a great interest in both club and county and will be sadly missed by his close family and friends. Go ndeana Dia trochaire ar a ainm dilis.

County team,

Best of luck to Jack and the Monaghan seniors in the Ulster semi-final on Saturday next in Armagh. Also well done to Ellen and the ladies for their excellent win over Cavan to reach yet another provincial final.
