PLATINUM TANKS RESERVE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP MC KEOWN CUP FINAL.
Clontibret 1-10, Corduff 0-13.
Clontibret and Corduff have to do it all again after they finished all square at the end of this entertaining if never spectacular McKeown Cup final that was played in sweltering conditions in Blackhill on Sunday afternoon last. Corduff had the better of the exchanges in the 1st half at the end of which they led by 4 points, County minor star Sean Burns doing most of the damage to Clontibret with his excellent finishing. Clontibret came more into the game in the second-half with a goal by Dean McDonnell at the end of the 3rd quarter bringing them level for the 1st time and setting the game up for an exciting finish with the lead changing hands twice and Corduff coming back to level it deep into stoppage time, although by that stage they were ruing a missed penalty when Christopher McDermott saved well from Sean Burns’ spot kick with 2 minutes of normal time remaining.
