LATTON CENTENARY CARNIVAL – FRIDAY 26th – SUNDAY 28th MAY 2017.

From Friday 26th May to Sunday 28th May Latton O’Rahilly GAA Club have a huge range of events taking place. It commences on Friday 26th with the Official Opening , in the O’Rahilly GAA Centre with the selection of “Mr.Centenary”,a great night of entertainment, as 9 of Monaghan’s greatest GAA Stars, display many hidden talents, in a bid to scoop the most coveted of titles of 2017. Commencing at 9pm, each contestant on the night will complete a live interview on stage with the “Breakfast Roll Man”Northern Sound’s,Sean McCaffrey and perform a party piece. The audience will vote for their favourite contestant, a judging panel will also be present to select and crown “Mr.Centenary”who will receive a cash prize of 500euro.

The “Mr.Centenary”contestants are-(1).Aughnamullen-Niall Mooney.(2).Ballybay-Colm Lennon  (3).Carrickmacross-Ciaran Ward  (4).Corduff-Cathel McEneaney (5).Drumhowan-Anthony Mulligan (6).Inniskeen-Conor Faul (7).Latton-Stephen McElroy  (8).Rockcorry-Mickey Carroll(9).Scotstown-Micheal McCarville.

On Saturday 27th May  doors open at 8pm at the O’Rahilly G.A.A. Centre as the Club host JIM DEVINE,voted Irelands”,Best Live Band 2016.” Tickets are available from all club members and a great night is guaranteed. Prizes galore on the night including, Best Jiving Couple, Best Dressed Cowboy and Best Dressed Cowgirl.

Sunday sees the Latton O’Rahilly GAA Club Centenary Celebrations continue with a day of Remembrance, Celebration and Entertainment commencing with at

9.00am-Registrations of Names and Burial place of Deceased O’Rahilly GAA Club persons.

10.00am-Mass of Thanksgiving and Remembrance for all who played and participated in Gaelic Games in the Parish over the past 100 years.

-Blessing of Centenary Grave Flags.
-Placing of Flag on the Graves of the Graves of the Late Vincent O’Duffy and Master Frank O’Duffy.

-Placing of Flags by Centenary Flags on Graves in St.Patrick’s Cemetery.

2.00pm-Emily Coyle and Jack Conlon Memorial Tournaments
U-14s-Latton,Clones,Drumhowan and Kill.
U-10s-Latton,Aughnamullen,Donaghmoyne and Rockcorry.

5.30pm-Registration of Names and Burial Places of Deceased O’Rahillys GAA Club persons at St.Mary’s Church,Latton.

6.30pm-Placing of Centenary Grave Flags on the Graves of Deceased Priests interned in St.Mary’s Cemetary.
-Placing of Centenary Grave Flags on the Graves in St.Mary’s Cemetery.
-Prayers by Fr.Tom Quigley P.P. and Fr.Gerry White S.S.C.C.

7.30pm-Unveiling of Centenary Stone by Ruth Sweatman-Grand Daughter of The O’Rahilly-National and Club Patriot.

-Tree Planting by Uachtaran C.L.G.-Aogán  Ó Fearghail.

8.00pm-Brendan McCourt Live.

The Latton club thank all who have supported Centenary Events to date and invite everyone to participate in the weekend’s events and those planned for the remainder of the year.
