Youth Affairs
Under 12’s – Currin Under 12’s are awaiting details of Summer League which will be known shortly.

The Under 10’s travel to Cloghan for the next ‘Go Games’ blitz on Saturday 6th May. This event will double up as Open Morning (change from evening in previous years) where supporters will have an opportunity to meet and greet the County Senior Players prior to their Ulster Senior Championship Preliminary Round v Fermanagh. Under age players and supporters will have the opportunity to get their photo taken with the players, get their autographs and there will also be the opportunity to buy Monaghan merchandise. Please spread the word. The Currin Under 10 playing time will be from 12noon – 2pm please so we will have to arrive early enough to meet the players prior to our games.
The first Under 8 ‘Go Games’ of the year took place in Clones on Saturday last and there was a great turnout from all the players and the teams performed very well. Well done all. There are some excellent photo’s on our facebook page.
The Under 8 and Under 6 training is now running on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 sharp at the pitch in Scotshouse. There has been a really good turnout for the first few weeks and of course all are welcome and spread the word.
Seniors
We travelled to Drumhowan on Sunday last and came away with both points in a keenly contested game. Currin began with the benefit of a strong wind but found ourselves behind by five points after ten minutes, due to some really good play from the home side and poor decision making and complacency from ourselves. However, we regrouped and scored seven unanswered points to go in at half time ahead, 0-9 to 1-4. With the aid of the elements the home side drew level but we finished strongly to win by five points. Final score, Drumhowan, 2-11, Currin 2-16. Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Colm Mc Caffrey, Paul Rudden, Conor Mc Caffrey, Enda Mc Caffrey, 0-1, Ciaran Mc Caffrey,1-1, Paddy Mc Dermott, Dick Clerkin,0-7, Eoin Morrow, Ben Clerkin, Jason Mc Kiernan, 0-1, Ronan King, Dara Brady, Stephen Smyth, 1-4, Niall Mc Entee. 0-2. Subs, Dylan Greenan, Shane O Connor, Johnny O Connor.
Next game is at home to Oram on Friday night at 7.30 p.m. Please note the throw in time.
Best wishes.
Best of luck to Dick who has started with the ‘Irish Indo’ on Monday’s with a ‘Talking point’ column. Good start this week.
