Ladies

Under 14’s:

It was a busy week for our u14’s. Firstly, Corduff hosted Latton in R3 of the U14 league on Tuesday. In what was definitely a game of 2 halves Latton dominated the first half holding Corduff scoreless throughout with Latton going in on a scoreline of 6-04 to no score at the interval.

However, Corduff girls showed great spirit in the second half and with long spells in the ascendancy for key passages they outscored Latton by scoring 5-5. This wasn’t enough to win the match but narrowed Latton’s winning margin 8-8 to 5-5.Well done to Corduff on a great comeback in the second half. The team was Kerrie Anne Walsh, Emily Hegarty, Abbie McGivney, Holly Higgins, Abbie Finegan, Georgia Smyth, Kayla Hand, Fiona Corrigan, Ellen Connolly, Tracy Hill, Niamh McCahey & Rebecca McGivney.

Then on Bank Holiday Monday the U14’s travelled to Tyholland to play round 4 of the league. The home side started stronger but once again Corduff showed great spirit to narrow the gap to 3 points at the interval, with big performances from Emily Hegarty, Katie Walsh, Abbie Finegan, Georgia Smyth and Kayla Hand. Corduff were always a threat and were narrowly defeated by a point at the full time whistle. Once again a great team effort by all involved.

Seniors:

On Sunday the senior ladies travelled to Truagh/Gaeil Triucha for round 4 of the league. The game was played in very windy conditions and scores were hard earned by both sides in what was a low scoring game. Corduff went in with a 2 point advantage at the interval on 0-4 to 0-2.

The second half continued to be challenging making for a nervous finish with Claire Connolly pulling off a great save towards the end ensuring that Corduff held onto their 2 point lead by the whistle on Corduff 0-8 and Truagh 0-6.

This was a great win for Corduff making it their first win in Division 1.

The focus now switches to the championship with Corduff playing Seans in the Preliminary round of the Junior Championship on Sunday 14thMay in Threemilehouse.

Under 8:

Under 12:

Congratulations to our U12s on winning their Spring League Final on Saturday, April 29th. They produced a fantastic performance to win in difficult conditions for football. Corduff, playing against a strong wind, lead by the minimum at half time. They opened the final period of the game with a number of quick fire scores to pull away from Doohamlet. Doohamlet responded well but were unable to post enough scores to get back into the game. The final score was Corduff 0-19 v 0-09 Doohamlet.

Well done boys and girls!!!

Under 14:
