Under 12 Football Spring League.
Had a superb win over a gallant Truagh side on a scoreline of 13 to 4 on Saturday last in Cloghan. This was a tremendous achievement for the lads and as a result they will now be competing in Division 1 of the U-12’s. This team showed great promise in the first three matched winning all games and topping it off in style on Saturday. Well done to everyone involved and we can now look forward with great anticipation for the rest of the year. U-16’s
Play Rockcorry this Thursday at 7.30pm in Rockcorry. Hopefully the lads can get back to winning ways.
Minors
Got their first points on the board as they drew with Latton on Thursday last. The lads were to rue missed chances as they just didn’t manage to get the two points. Next game for these lads is on Tuesday the 09th of May hopefully they can get the win before the break for exams.
Referees Needed
The club is asking anyone who would have an interest in refereeing games this year to please contact club Chairman John Holland. Our games are not possible without referees and Monaghan GAA is currently very short on volunteers.
Seniors
The Seniors visited Oram on Saturday last in the next round of the Junior Football league. In very blustery conditions this was always going to be a game of two halves. Clones played with the wind in the first half and after a tentative start Clones led by 0-6 to 0-3 with 17 minutes gone with points from Adrian Alford (3), Eoin McQuaid, Declan McQuaid and Fabian Beggan. Clones then hit 10 points from the 19th minute to half time in a flurry that decided the match. Points were scored by Eoin McQuaid (2), Darragh Holland, Fabian Beggan, Adrian Alford (4), Emmett McEntee and Colm Connolly. Clones led at the break on a scoreline of 0-16 to 0-03. Clones played against the wind in the second half and despite a purple patch for Oram in the second half the lads were able to see the game out relatively easy. Further scores in the Second half coming from Ben Daly, Adrian Alford (2), Darragh Holland, Fintan Kelly (1-01) and Colm
Connolly. Clones eventually won the game on a scoreline of 1-22 to 1-14. Next up is the trip to Scotstown on Friday the 05th of May at 7.30pm.

Well Done
To Rian Kierans and Adrian Alford for their involvement in the Monaghan U-17 panel that won the recent U-17 Football League Shield on the 22nd of April beating Armagh on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-02. Well done lads. Keep up the hard work.
