Castleblayney Faughs Club Notes – May 22th

RFL: The senior reserve team returned to action on Friday last away to Cremartin and came away with a 4 point win. Blayney controlled the game for large spells but could never get the scores to put the game to bed and a spirited home side closed the gap to a point midway through the second half with a converted penalty. However, Blayney responded well and 3 unanswered points saw them hold out for a 0-13 to 1-6 victory. Next game is scheduled for 31st May V Blackhill.

U12 Boys: The under 12 development team kicked off their competitive season in fine style with a victory over Donaghmoyne at home. In an entertaining and high scoring affair our sharper finishing with goal chances proved the difference, eventually running out winners 9-5 to 4-8. Most impressive for the Faughs were the inside forward duo of Max McGinnity and Johnathon Huang who accounted for most of Blayney’s scores on the night.

U10 Boys: The lads played in a round of Go Games in St Marys Park last Saturday, we had three teams who all competed great against Scotstown, Traugh , Seans and Magheracloone. This Sunday sees the U9 team travel to Dublin for the Kilmacud Tournament, coaches will text out the details later in the week.

U10 Girls: The Girls play a challenge game this Wednesday in St Mary’s Park when they take on O’Neill Shamrocks at 7pm. This is the first time that many of the girls will have played for the Club so if you are free, come out and cheer them on.

Well Done: Well done to our Senior and Minor Men County Teams who had good wins in Clones on Saturday past.

The Boys County Under 16 team also had two good wins in the Buncranna Cup last Saturday.

Well done to everyone who took part in the Supervalu Tidy Towns Clean Up day.

Hard luck to our County Girls Under 14 Team who lost out to Cavan in the Ulster Final.
