Monaghan Electrical IFL: What a way to start of the new season for our Senior men! We recorded a 1-14 to 0-15 win against Cremartin last Saturday evening. A game that was very fast paced and both teams were very well matched. Shane Treanor and Padraig Finnan notched up the first two points on the scoreboard within the first 5 minutes of play and after Cremartin returning to meet these, the remainder of the first half and indeed most of the game was score for score! At the half time mark both teams were level with 8 points each. When Cremartin returned to the field they took the lead until Dermot Coyle scored a hat-trick of points and along with a fantastic goal by Padraig Finnan and points from Niall Askin, Shane Askin and Ryan (Gooch) McKenna things turned around again and left Tyholland on the winning end! Team & Scorers: Pat Hamill, David McQuaid, Trevor Connolly, Stephen Connolly, Gerard Treanor, Joe O’Boyle (0-1), Niall Askin (0-2), Ronan McNally, Jamie Smith, Mickey McQuaid, Shane Trenor (0-1), Padraig Finnan (1-2), Johnny McKenna, Shane Askin (0-1), Dermie Coyle (0-6). Subs used: Ryan McKenna (0-1), Paul Coyle.

They were out again last night when they played Emyvale (check facebook for results). To finish off this week they will be welcoming Inniskeen on Saturday evening for their third game in 7 days. We would love to see the same support that was received last Saturday so hope you can all make the 7pm throw in!!

Minors: Our Minors welcomed Patrick Emmets on Tuesday for their first home game. Details on fb or check fb.

Gerry’s Prepared Veg:

U16: Good luck to Mark Treanor and our 16s who welcome Eire Og this evening (Thursday) for a home game at 7pm.

U14: Our U14s played super football when they faced Killanny at home last Saturday. The game unfortunately resulted in a 2 point loss but this team is growing stronger thanks to the guidance from coaches of Barry Farrelly and Gareth McKenna. They played a challenge game last Tuesday in Eire Óg.
