Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 24th April 2017

Lotto Results.

Numbers Drawn on 19th April were 28-4-9-3 Bonus 14. No Jackpot Winner ,our €20 Winners were John Joe Gorman,Ballybay,Latton Bowls Club,Enda Clerkin ,Rockcorry,Peggy Lennon,Rocky Street,Gerry McMahon,Anney.

U12’s-Our U12’S had a fixture on Tuesday 25th April at home v Corduff-See Social Media for Result.

U14’S

Our U14’s had an away fixture on Saturday 22nd April v Scotstown. They finished the game strongly to gain a draw on scoreline of Latton 2-07 – Scotstown 0-13.

U16’s

Latton played on Sunday last v St Pat’s a home . A very competitive game however St Pats finished stronger and ran out winners on Scoreline Latton 2-10 – St Pats 5-08.

Next fixture up is at home tonight Thursday 27th April v Donaghmoyne at 7.30pm.On 4th May they play away v Scotstown at 7.30.

Minor

We played at home fixture on Tuesday 25th v St Tiernachs Sarsfields-See Results elsewhere. Next fixture is at home v Castleblayney on Tuesday 21nd May at 7.30.

Latton O’Rahilly Players Golf Calssic

Latton o’rahillys players centenary golf classic sponsored by Regan and Co accountants took place on Saturday 22nd April l in Clones Golf Club . A sincere thanks to all our teams & Sponsors –Full Report elsewhere.

Senior League

We played on Wednesday 26th April at home v Truagh – See Result elsewhere. Next up is a home fixture v Castleblayney at 7.30 on Wednesday 3rd May.

O’Duffy Cup Preliminary Round

Latton Travelled to Castleblayney yesterday evening for a encounter with Castleblayney in the RFC. Latton lined out with Liam Quinn,Paul Fitzpatrick,Dillon Quinn,Conor Lynch,Darren mc Elroy,Thomas Connolly,Marc Duffy,Paudie Hamilton,Thomas Lynch,Cillian Lynch,Owen Hillis,Damien Duffy,jason Nixon,Patrick Conlan.

Latton were first out of the blocks with a Darren Mc Elroy Point . Castleblayney hit back to lead 0-02 to 0-01 by the 3rd minute. A Jason Nison point leveled affairs . Castleblayney found the net in the 6th minute followed up be a Dillon Quinn oint to laeve Score Blayney 1-02 – Latton 0-03.Blayney hit 2 quick points in 11th & 12th minute of 1st half. A Marc Duffy point was followed by a Dillon Quinn goal .Marc Duffy scored from play to leave score Lattpon 1-06 to Blayney 1-05. Blayney levelled and Thomas Connolly hit over the next score. James Mc Elroy who had replaced the injured Darren Mc Elroy hit over a Free quickly followed by Another Thomas Connolly Point to leave the Half time score Lattin 1-09 to Blayney 1-06. James Mc Elroy & Daire Quinn got first scores on 2nd Half to laeve Latton 5 points up.Blayney responded with two points followed by a Marc Duffy free.Thomas Connolly slotted over another well taken point followed quickly by a James Mc Elroy free to leave it Latton 1-14 to Blayney 1-08.Thomas was once agin on target followed by a Marc Duffy free and a Conor Lynch point to leave Latton 9 points up .Blayney it back with a Goal followed by a Marc Duffy point . Blayney finshed the match with a point to leave final score Latton 1-19 – Castleblayney 2-08. Subs used were James McElroy,Ryan Conlan,Francis Mc Elroy & Seamus Hughes.

Sympathy

The Club extends its sincere sympathy to the Sullivan family,Anveyerg,Latton on the sad passing of PJ. Predeceased by his father Tommy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his Wife Colette, daughters Kellie and Chloe, and son Thomas, mother Margo, sisters Marion (Lavin), Kathleen, Deirdre (Mc Nally), brother Brendan, mother and father in law Anne and Eugene Boylan, extended family, relatives and friends.

The club extends its sympathy to the Duffy family on the passing of Patrick (Pat) Duffy, Corravackan, Shantonagh P.O Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. April 22nd at Cavan General Hospital, Cavan. Predeceased by his wife Ena Duffy (nee Connolly). Sadly missed and deeply regretted by his loving sons Michael and Patrick, daughters Mary, Eileen, Breege and Roisin, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother Vincent, sisters Mary Ellen, Annie, Bridget and Kathleen, brothers-in…-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends. MAY HE REST IN PEACE
