Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 17th April 2017

entenary Museum
We are currently working on our Museum at the minute –This will be permanent fixture showing Club over last 100 years. In this regard if anyone has any old Photos they would like included they can they make contact with Kathleen Lynch who will organise Scanning & Return of same.
U12’s
Our U12’s had an away game last Saturday 15th v Oram . They played very well however they were unlucky to go down by a single point Latton 0-15 to Oram 0-16.They play next at home v Corduff on Saturday 25th April at 2pm.
U14’S
Our U14’s have an away fixture on Saturday 22nd April v Scotstown at 2pm.
U16’s
Latton had a great away win last Thursday v Carrick on a Scoreline of Latton 0-12 – Carrickmacross 0-10. Next up this evening is a home fixture v St Patricks at 7.15pm .Well done and keep it up.Next fixture up is at home on Thursday 27th April v Donaghmoyne at 7.30pm.
Minor
They played Emyvale on Tuesday 11th April away . They battled well bavk into the game in the second half however were defeated on a scoreline of Latton 1-10 – Emyvale 4-04.Next up is home fixture on Tuesday 25th v St Tiernachs Sarsfields at 7.30.
Latton O’Rahilly Players Golf Calssic
Latton o’rahillys players centenary golf classic sponsored by Regan and Co accountants takes place in clones golf club on the 22nd April. Teams of 4 are €160 with €1,500 in prizes. Tee box sponsorship is also available. Please contact Owen Hamilton for tee off times, 087-6563434. The presentation of prizes takes place in GAA centre from 9pm with Music and a “Pig on Spit” .

Latton V Donaghmoyne Senior league Round 2
Latton lined out with Sean Farmer ,Conor Lynch ,Eddie Lennon,Stephen Fitzpatrick,Kieran Duffy,Stephen McElroy,Darren Nc Elroy,,Damien Duffy,Sterphen Mc elroy,Christopher Rice,Thomas Lynch,Stephen mc Cabe,Owen Coyle,,Owen Duffy,Hughie Mc Elroy.
Donaghmoyne commenced scoring with a point and this was followed up quickly by a Shane Coyle Point.Donaghamoyne settled quicker with 3 more points to laed 0-04 to 0-01. Latton hit back with a Steohen mc Cabe point . Donaghamoyne received a Balck Card and this was followed by two quick points for Shane Coyle and Hugie Mc Elroy. Donaghmoyne hit back with another pint however Hughie McElroy levelled the game with 5 points each. Next came the turning point for Latton when a high ball into the square from Shane Coyle was sent to the net by Hughie Mc Elroy. Latton 2nd goal was a great Owen Duffy goal leaving Latton 6 points to the good. This was quickly followed up by points from Stephen mc Cabe,Thomas Lynch and Hugie Mc elroy.. Donaghmoyne hit the last two scores of the 1st half to leave half time score Latton 2-08 to 0-07.
Latton started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st with 2 quick points from Stephen Mc Elroy & StephenMc Cabe. Donaghamoyne hit 2 further points and once agin Hugie Mc Elroy was on target to leave score Latton 2-11 to Donaghmoyne 0-09. Donaghmoyne hot a quick point followed up by a long Range Goal from Thonas Lynch. Latton rallied after this with points from Stephen Mc Cabe (2),Shane coyle. Donaghmoyne hit over followed by a Shane Coyle point. Sean Farmer was replaced by Liam Quinn,Paudie Hanilton relaced Owen Duffy,Dylan Quinn relaced Owen Coyle ,Thomas Connolly for Conor Lynch,Daire Quinn for Thomas Lynch.The final 3 points went to Donaghmoyne to leave final Score Latton 3-15 to 0-14.
Latton played a second League Game last Saturday evening v Killaney . Another great performance seen them make it three wins out of three on scoreline of Latton 2-14 – Killanny 0-16.Our Scorers were Darren Mc Elroy 1-03 ,Owen Duffy 0-05 (0.03 f),Kieran Duffy 0-04,Thomas Connolly 1-00 ,Stephen Mc Cabe 0.01 and Aidan Farmer 0.01.
Our Next Senior Fixture is v Gael Truicha at home on Wednesday 26th April at 7.30pm.
Reserve Football Championshio
Latton face Castleblayney away on Friday 21st April at 7.00 in the RFC O’Duffy Cup Preliminary Round.
Sympathy

Table Quiz
A Table quiz is being held in Latton GAA Centre on Friday 21st April to funds for setup up & maintenance of the latton Bawn community first responder group. This group are volunteers who are prepared to give up their time to try n help save lives in this area. It would be great if you could spread the word /take a table to help support this.
