Drumhowan Club Notes

By Majella Boyd Fri 14th Apr

Seniors – Scotstown 0-17 Drumhowan 0-14 We went under to Scotstown on Sunday last in a high scoring game. After a good first half we failed to build on that in the second half. We play Oram at home on this Wednesday 12th at 7pm and are away to Clones on next Saturday 15th at 7pm
Minors – St Pats went under to Corduff/Donaghmoyne last week. We were five points up at half time but we fell away in the second half. We were due to go to Truagh on Tuesday evening gone past.
U16  St Pats lost out to Carrickmacross on Friday evening last with a very much depleted squad. They play Monaghan Harps on this Thursday evening at 7pm in Ballybay.
U14  Drumhowan 3-12  Doohamlet 4-8  We had an exciting one point win over Doohamlet on Saturday last. There was little between the teams all through the game and some strong goal line defending at the end left us with the narrow win. Next game is at home to Tyholland on Saturday 22nd April at 2pm.
U12 – We play Killeevan in the last round of the Spring League on this Saturday at 4pm in Newbliss. All players should be there for 3.30pm and note the later start time.
U10 – We had an exciting challenge match v Doohamlet on last Thursday evening. Both teams played some good football on the night.
Community games U10 – We along with Ballybay will be entering a parish Tullycorbett team this year again. Training will be starting soon for this.
Go Games – Drumhowan will be the host club for the first Under 8 & 10 Go Games Blitz of the season. The U10 one will be on Saturday morning 22nd April and the U8 one will be on Saturday April 29th both in Mc Keown Park. Also if anyone is interested in refereeing go games and is over 16 then let Cormac Duffy know.
U6-8  – Training continues on the pitch from 7-8pm each Monday evening and new players very welcome to come along and join in the fun and games.
CE Worker – The club has a vacancy for a CE worker around the pitch and grounds and another vacancy for a cleaner in the Centre on the TUS programme. You must have been unemployed for the past year and be on social welfare to qualify. Contact Gerry Finnegan or Tommy Mc Ardle for details.
Easter Camps –  A three day Easter Camp takes place in Ballybay next week starting on Tuesday April 18/19/20th from 10am to 2.30pm daily suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years old. See the Monaghan Co Board website for more details.
Croke Park Activity Day : We had a draw at training and the two players out of the hat born in 2005 were Tristan Duffy and Jason Clarke who will play in Croke Park on Friday 21st April. Enjoy the day lads.
Bank Holiday – Juvenile training next week will take place on Tuesday night 7pm for all teams from Under 6 up to U14. No training on the bank holiday Easter Monday.
