Drumhowan Club Notes

Platinum Tanks RFL Div 2 A –  The Bs suffered an away defeat to Ballybay last Saturday evening  the 1st of April The full time score was Drumhowan 1-4 Ballybay 3-11  with scores from Mark Mc Cabe 2(1f) Paddy Mulligan 0-1, Dean Mooney 1-0 and Tom Mc Guirk 0-1 with the last kick of the game.
Team Cormac Duffy, Niall Duffy, Barry Mc Guirk, James Mc Elearney, Mikey Daly, Conor Duffy, Rónan Duffy, Ciarán Duffy, Aiden Quinn, Mark Mc Cabe, Paddy Mulligan, Michale Atkinson, Michéal Duffy, Dean Mooney and Paul Mc Guirk. Subs used were Paddy Markey for James Mc Elearney, Tom Mc Guirk for Paul Mc Guirk. Perhaps the lack of Drumhowan support had an effect on the team. Lets hope for  better when the As commence their campaign this weekend.
Eurotech JFL  –  The As open their campaign this Sunday 9th April at 2pm away to Scotstown – lets get out and support the team.  Then next Wednesday 12th of April Oram are the visitors to Mc Keown park with a 7pm throw in.
 
Connolly Meats MFL Division 1 – Scotstown’s minor team  just proved too good  last Tuesday 28th March when they over came St. Patricks in Drumhowan on a full time scoreline  St. Patricks  3-6  Scotstown 1-13. Last Tuesday the 4th of April it was away to Donaghduff Gaels and then next  Thursday its away to Truagh.
 
Gerry’s Veg U16 Division 1 –  the U16s suffered a heavy defeat to Castleblayney   last Thursday with the full time scoreline St. Patrick’s  2-3 Castleblayney 7-13. This Friday the 7th of  April  things don’t get any easier St. Patrick’s take on Carrickmacross  away at 6.45
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Division 3 –  The U14s play Doohamlet in round 3 of the league on this Saturday. Throw in is at 12pm in Doohamlet so all players need to be there for 11.30 sharp and note the earlier start time. Please come out and support the team.
 
U12  Spring League –  Clones 0-17  Drumhowan 0-11. The U12s  went under to a stronger more mobile slick Clones side on Sunday. Next match is away against Killeevan on Saturday April 15th at 2pm.
 
Community games U10 – Drumhowan along with Ballybay will be entering a parish Tullycorbett team this year again. Training will be starting soon for this.
Go Games – Drumhowan will be the host club for the first Under 8 & 10 Go Games Blitz of the season. The U10 one will be on Saturday morning 22nd April and the U8 one will be on Saturday April 29th both in Mc Keown Park. Also if anyone is interested in refereeing go games and is over 16 then let Cormac Duffy know.
U6-8  – Training continues on the pitch from 7-8pm each Monday evening and new players very welcome to come along and join in the fun and games.
 
CE Worker – The club has a vacancy for a CE worker around the pitch and grounds and another vacancy for a cleaner in the Centre on the TUS programme. You must have been unemployed for the past year and be on social welfare to qualify. Contact Gerry Finnegan or Tommy Mc Ardle for details.
Easter Camps –  A three day Easter Camp takes place in Ballybay on April 18/19/20th from 10am to 2.30pm daily suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years old. See the Monaghan Co Board website for more details.
