Results:
Reserve Championship:
Local rivals Blackhill provided the opposition on Saturday evening in the preliminary round of the O’Duffy Cup. The first half was a close affair with Blackhill starting well before Donaghmoyne started to find their range. In the second half Donaghmoyne took control of the proceedings and established a lead which should have seen them home but a late goal brought Blackhill back into the game and the sides finished level at the end of normal time. In extra time Two Donaghmoyne goals gave the home side the advantage and despite the visitors best efforts Donaghmoyne booked their place in the next round with a score line of 2-15 to 1-16.
U16:
The U16s lost out to locals rivals Carrickmacross on Friday evening with the score line not doing justice to the efforts of the lads.
U14:
The U14s made the short trip to Carrickmacross on Saturday with both teams in action. The Division 1 game was a top of the table clash and in true derby fashion this was a tight physical encounter. Donaghmoyne were dealt two early blows with bad injuries to Hugh Murnaghan and Gavin McSkeane in the first 10 minutes. Despite these setbacks the Donaghmoyne squad was more than equal to the task with some terrific point scoring and a determined defensive display clinching the win on a score of 13 points to 8. Unfortunately the B team was not able to make it a double over the hosts, with the squad stretched by injuries they battled to the end but lost out to a strong Carrick side.
Speedy Recovery:
The club would like to wish a speedy recovery to Gavin McSkeane and Hugh Murnaghan who both were injured at the weekend.
Brock Cup:
Congratulations to the Patrician High School on winning the Brock Cup on Monday night in Silverbridge. Well done to the six Donaghmoyne players involved Christopher Cunningham, Liam McDonald, Conor Cummiskey, Owen Morris, David Kerley and Ciaran Finnegan .
Recently Deceased:
The club would like to extend its sympathies to the Woods family and friends on the death of Kathleen Woods Longfield, Carrickmacross, also to the Collier and Goodman families on the death of Hughie Duffy Rausker Ballybay.
