Monaghan V Dublin
What a day last Sunday as the Dubs visited Clones for the last round of the National Football League. Nobody could have asked for a better spectacle as the two teams served up a first class contest. Unfortunately Monaghan came out on the losing side despite leading for most of the game. All in all it was a very good campaign for Monaghan and leaves everyone with a lot of optimism for the coming season. It has also been great to have 2 representatives on the team with Fintan and James performing well throughout the League. Next up will be a mouth-watering derby against local rivals Fermanagh on the 20th of May.
Thank You
The club would also like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who helped out on Sunday. From programme sellers, to tea makers, shop workers and Stewards there was a huge presence of our members there on the day to help out. These big days take a lot of effort from a lot of people so again thank you.

Under 12 Football Spring League.
Clones had another great win over Drumhowan on a score line of 1-16 to 1-10. The lads put in a great shift and secured their second win over the year. Next up for the lads is a trip to Doohamlet on the 15th of April.
U-14’s
Next up for the lads is a trip to Clontibret on the 22nd of April.
U-16’s
Had a great win over Cremartin on Thursday last in Clones on a scoreline of 4-9 to 4-6. This team is amalgamated with Killevan this year and hopefully they can build on this excellent win.
Minors
Had their first game on Tuesday against Castleblaney. Let’s hope the lads got off to a winning start. Please see next week’s notes for report.
Referees Needed
The club is asking anyone who would have an interest in refereeing games this year to please contact club Chairman John Holland. Our games are not possible without referees and Monaghan GAA is currently very short on volunteers.
Seniors
Start their league campaign with 3 games next week starting this Saturday with the visit of Aghabog to Clones. Throw in for this one is at 6.30pm. The lads have been working hard so hopefully it pays off on Saturday. This is the beginning of a busy week as we are away to Killevan on Wednesday night at 7pm in Killevan and then host Drumhowan on Saturday the 15th of April. Let’s hope the lads can get the season off to a solid start. Please support.
