Senior’s

Well done to the Monaghan U21’s and in particular our own 2 lads, Dermot Gleeson and Micky Tierney who both played exceptionally well last Wednesday night in Belfast. Next up for them is Derry in Inniskeen this coming Wednesday 15th at 8pm.

Also well done to Rigan McAree whom has been selected to play for the County Minors.

U14’s

Our first u14’s game was played last Saturday when we travelled to Ballybay in what was expected to be a tight affair. From the throw up it was out lads that got stuck in with Conal Duffy and Mathew McBride running the show in the middle of the park. With our defence rock solid thanks to Liam Hamill and the 2 big men, Jake Lambe and James Hughes whom both were winning tackles that wouldn’t have been expected when going up against fellas a lot bigger! Also a special mention must go to Philip Neeson who was exceptional in goals making 2 fantastic saves in the first half to deny the home team a couple of goals. Up front it was the sharp shooting from the 2 Smith brothers, Niall and Garry both grabbing 2 goals each to keep us well ahead. With the hard graft going unnoticed from Patrick lambe and Niall Smyth who made sure the home team didn’t get a clear run at the defence and held they off to allow us finish strong.

Final score Eire Og 5-7 Ballybay 2-3

Scorers, Garry Smith, 2-1, Niall Smith, 2-0, Conal Duffy, 1-1, Mathew McBride, 0-3, Niall Smyth, 0-1, Patrick Lambe, 0-1.

U6’s U’8’s U10’s

Ladies

Our Senior Ladies played Monaghan Harps on Sunday in Railway Park in the first round of the senior league. The girls put in a terrific performance in what was an extremely fast flowing game to come out with a win. Final score Emmet Og 9-07 Monaghan Harps 5-08.

Our next outing is Sunday against Aughnamullen in the Spring league at 11am. Venue to be confirmed.

County Minor ladies

Well done to our own Chloe Mc Bride who lined out against Donegal and finished with 1-2 to her name.

Spring Clean 2017

A massive thank you to all whom helped out last Saturday morning for our annual spring clean. It was fantastic to get so much help and it really helps to lift the appearance of the ground for the coming Season.
