Ulster under 21 Championship:

Monaghan made a winning start in the preliminary round of the Ulster Championship last Wednesday in Queens University. Well done to the five Donaghmoyne players, Captain Mikey Murnaghan, Shane and David Garland, Stephen Finnegan and Ronan McDonald who all played in the victory over Antrim. Good luck next time out against Derry.

Recently Deceased:

The club would like to extend its sympathies to the Carolan family and friends on the death of Tom Carolan Longfield, to the Maguire family and friends on the death of Bridget Maguire Clonliffe Road.

FR Edmund Maguire PE.

It was with great sadness that the people of the parish learned of the death of the late Fr. Maguire on Sunday morning past. Fr. Maguire had been parish priest in Donaghmoyne from 2002 until his retirement in 2007. Fr. Maguire’s personable manner and great sense of humour made him loved and respected by young and old alike. The esteem in which Fr. Edmund Maguire was held by all his former parishioners was born out by the large crowds whom attended his funeral mass in St Lastras Church on Tuesday Morning. We would like to extend our sympathies to his Sister Mary, family and friends. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.
