The club wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the McConnon family, Sreenty, on the recent passing of Nancy. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
Feile:
The John West sponsored Féile Peil na nÓg draws nearer and there was great excitement last weekend when it was announced that Corduff Juveniles and Corduff Ladies will host a boys and a girls team from Boston Northeast GAA for the Féile weekend from the 23rd to 25th of June.
The players will be hosted by families in the area with extended family members staying in accommodation nearby. This will be a massive weekend of Gaelic games and culture for the Corduff/Raferagh area and we look forward to giving our visitors a Céad Míle Fáilte to the area.
Ladies
Mouthguards: From January 1st 2017 it is mandatory for all ladies Gaelic players in all grades to wear a mouthguard in all training sessions and games. The consequences of not wearing one are that players will be ordered off and will remain off until the situation is resolved and also players will not be covered by insurance if they don’t comply with the mouth guard rule.
2017 Championship Draw: The ladies championship draw was held recently. Corduff will once again contest the Junior Championship and play Sean McDermotts in the preliminary round.
Weekend Action: Last weekend was the busiest one to date on the 2017 calendar with Corduff Ladies’ members in action at all levels. Congratulations to Georgia Smyth who represented Corduff Ladies on the Monaghan U14 team which defeated Tyrone in the final of the Ulster Blitz bringing the first silverware of the season to the county. Fiona Patton (Monaghan Minor management) also had success with the minor team when they defeated
Donegal in the first round of the Ulster Championship. College football reached the business end of the season with four of our senior players in action with their respective colleges as follows; Eva Woods (DCU), Hannah Finegan (St Pat’s Drumcondra), Barbara Ward(Captain) and Niamh Callan (St Pat’s, Thurles). It was a brilliant achievement all-round to reach the final stages.
County Scene: Round 5 of the Division 1 LIDL NFL resumes this weekend when Monaghan senior ladies welcome current All-Ireland Champions Cork on Saturday. We wish Laura and Eva good luck in this encounter. This game will take place in St.Tiernach’s Park, Clones at 3:00pm.
Handball
GAA League:

Corduff Singles League:
The Spring League is now at the semi-final stage, with matches taking place in the alley throughout the course of this week. The Steelers topped the table with 96 points and will play The Vikings who finished fourth with 76 points. The Eagles and The Ravens will play in the other semi-final after they finished with only a point between them, on 90 and 89 respectively. Good luck to everyone.
