Well Done

To Fintan Kelly, James Mealiff and the Monaghan Seniors on a hard fought point in Ballyshannon last weekend. It is typical of this Monaghan team and their never say die attitude that they grabbed a late draw. What a game we now have on Sunday in St Tiernachs Park as it is a straight shootout against Dublin for a league final spot. Tickets are available all week in Super Valu.

Under 6’s, 8’s and 10’s

Registration and training starts for boys Under 6 & 8’s and Girls U 6, 8, 10’s and 12’s on Wednesday evenings at 6pm in the Peace Link. Boys U-10’s training starts on Saturday the 1st of April at 10am in the Peace Link. Registration can be paid on either of these days to Joanne Rehill.

Under 12 Football Spring League.

Play Drumhowan in their second game at 2pm this coming Saturday in Clones. Had a great win against Killeevan in their first game so hopefully they can build on this. Best of luck lads.

U-14’s

Had another great win over Latton last Saturday in St Tiernach’s Park in a cracker of a game. The lads eventually won on a scoreline of 3-14 to 3-9. These lads are playing great football and their attitude is a credit to their Parents and management. Hopefully they can continue their progression with a win against Clontibret on the 22nd of April. Well Done Lads.

U-16’s

Have their first game against Patrick Emmets in Aghabog next Thursday the 6th of April at 6.45pm.

Minors

Have their first game on Tuesday next against Castleblaney. Let’s hope the lads can get off to a winning start.

Junior B’s

Lost out to Eire Og on Saturday evening on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-7 in St Tiernach’s Park. It has not been a great start to the league for the B’s but there are a lot of excellent footballers on this panel and we have no doubt they will improve as the season goes on.

Referees Needed

The club is asking anyone who would have an interest in refereeing games this year to please contact club Chairman John Holland. Our games are not possible without referees and Monaghan GAA is currently very short on volunteers.

Clones have been drawn to host a team from Derry in this years Feile. We will hear which club it is at the beginning of May when the Derry Feile competition finishes. The Feile is due to take place from the 23rd to the 25th of June.

Stewards Needed

With the big match in Clones on Sunday the club needs a lot of help with Stewarding. All Stewards need to be in the ground for 12pm for a briefing and ALL stewards will see the game. Your help will be greatly appreciated as a big crowd is expected.
