Monaghan 0-7 Cavan 0-7 12/2/17
Monaghan played out a low-scoring draw with Cavan at a chilly Castleblayney on Sunday. Three Conor McManus points saw Monaghan recover from a slow start to take a narrow lead, but the scores were deadlocked at half-time at 0-3 apiece.
McManus and Kieran Hughes gave Monaghan the upper hand at the start of the second half, while Conor McCarthy and Fintan Kelly also kicked points in the third quarter, but the hosts were unable to add to their tally in the last 22 minutes, with Cavan hitting back through substitute Conor Madden and Gearóid McKiernan to claim a share of the spoils.
Monaghan now have three points to their name ahead of the trip to Killarney to face Kerry on February 26.
