Corduff Club Notes

Club Lotto:

The first draw of our newly relaunched Lotto took place last Sunday in The Mountain Dew, Corduff. There was no winner of the Jackpot of €8,000. The five Lucky Dip winners were Pat Gilsenan, Brenglaze, P. McGuinness, Margaret R. Traynor & Claire Corrigan. There are Yearly Lottos available which entitle the bearer to entry into each Weekly draw. Contact our Lotto coordinator John Finlass on (087) 334 9853 for more information.

Next Week’s Jackpot will be €8,100 & the draw will be held in John Joe Cunningham’s on Sunday night at 9:00pm. Keep an eye on our Social Media channels for results of Lotto draws.

Membership:

Membership is due for the 2017 season. There are some fantastic packages on offer, which include access to all home games in Corduff this year & entry into each Weekly Lotto.

Inter-County:

The inter-county side got their Allianz League campaign off to the best possible start last Saturday night with an impressive two point win away to Mayo.

Next up is the visit of our near neighbours, Cavan, to Castleblayney this Sunday at 2:00pm.

Ladies

County News: Monaghan Senior Ladies won an incredible game against Mayo on Sunday. By half time Mayo had a comfortable lead. However Monaghan made a massive comeback in the second half and finally sealed the victory late in stoppage time. Congratulations to the Monaghan team and management and especially to Corduff Ladies’ Laura McEnaney and Eva Woods. The next round is home to Galway on 19th of February.

Handball:

GAA League:

The GAA League continued last Wednesday night with Round 10 played in Corduff against Bawn. The team of Ben Woods, Aidan Marron, Shane McNally & George McKitterick came away with a comprehensive win.

There was no game last night in the league, while next week the team make the short journey into Carrickmacross to play Carrick “B”.

Juvenile Training:

Training continues for the Juveniles on Friday evenings in the Alley at 7:00pm. New members welcome as always.

County Championships:

The County Championships are reaching the final stages. In the Novice 1 grade, Peter Brennan and Ciaran Brennan have both reached the semi-final stage. In the Novice 2 grade, one side of the draw pits

Shane McNally & George McKitterick against each other at the South Section semi-final stage. In the Novice 3 grade, Aidan Marron is at the semi-final stage, while rounding things off in the Novice 4 grade, Raymond Byrne is the sole Corduff representative remaining in the South Section semi-final.

Club Jersey:

If anyone wishes to purchase a Club jersey, please forward your name and size onto Ciaran Brennan on (087) 991 1338 before Sunday evening, as the order will be placed then.
