Our new manager is Eddie Johnston and he has brought John Behan on board as selector and Barry Mc Loughlain as the trainer. We wish the all well and hopefully we will see the Seniors competing for silverware this year.

Training begins this coming Friday at 8pm in Toals.

Sunday morning at 10am in Toals

Tuesday evening 8pm in Toals

We also were drawn against Rockcorry for the preliminary round of the J.F.C 2017.

Junior B’s

Management for this year will be Micky Tierney and Seamus Murray. Best wishes to both.

Last Man Standing

The first week went very well for most and with a total number of 261 entries we wish everyone the best of luck.

First aid/ Defibrillator course

The club are working to organise a training and refresher course on the use of the defibrillator. It will be run in clones on the 15th of February. We hope to have as many possible to receive what could be lifesaving training. Anyone who wishes to do so, please contact Margaret Tierney on, 00447714100562.

Also we would like to thank the 3 new members that will be providing first aid along with Margaret at the games and they are, Carla Treanor, Ellen Leonard and Amy Brady.

Social night

Our annual dinner dance will be held on the 11th of February in the Skule Inn. This year we have decided to take a different approach to encourage more of our members to attend in organising a Fun night out with a night at the races (with a difference).

The plan is to have 6 exercise bikes on the stage with 6 different competitors. They have 1 minute to go as hard as possible and whoever has travelled the furthest distance after the minute is declared the winner.

If we think some may be stronger than other we will be adjusting the tension on the bikes to make sure it’s fair!!

With a series of qualifier’s and semi final’s to compete for a spot in the final. We also hope to have the bookies with us on the night if you fancy a little flutter!

We have plenty of family races organised also which should provide great entertainment.

Feel free to bring along friends and family as we hope to bring some new members of the community in.

Smithboro Walking Club

Walking will take place every Monday and every Thursday at 7.30pm and every Saturday at 9.30am until St Patrick’s weekend!. However there will be NO official sign-in, so people will just meet at the entrance door of Smithboro Hall and hopefully a little group of people will head off together. We will start THIS THURSDAY evening (19th January 2017) at 7.30pm SHARP from Smithboro Hall. Please wear a high-vis if you have one, otherwise please ask for one when you arrive. Bring a friend along!!!
