Also Congratulations to Sean Gilsenan (Senior Referee award), Damian Boylan (minor referee award) and Niall Finnegan (Junior Shield Referee award)

Johnny Hamill:

January 14th saw the passing of the late John “Johnny” Hamill in his 100th year. Johnny was the last surviving member of the 1945 senior championship winning team and was a stalwart of the great Fontenoy teams of the 1930s and 1940s. His performances in the full back line were pivotal in the senior championship victories of 1942 and 1945 and in several senior league titles in the 1940s. The respect in which Johnny was held was born out by the large numbers who attended his funeral in Donaghamoyne. The club would like to extend its sympathies to Johnny’s wife Dympna, daughter Patricia, extended family and friends.
