Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 5, 6, 24 and 25. Jackpot of €7,700 not won. Residual prizes: €100 Tommy Reilly c/o Séamus Treanor; €40 Eilish Connolly c/o Brian O’Sullivan (Hurling Club); €40 Aoibhe McElvaney c/o Eileen McElvaney (Ladies Club); €40 Deirdre Sheridan c/o Paddy Donnelly. Jackpot for Sunday, November 13 is €7,800 and Maria and Hugh McKenna are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone who supports our Lotto.

Seniors: We were edged out of the County Monaghan Credit Unions Senior Football League in last Sunday’s semi-final at home to Castleblayney. Scores were hard earned for both teams in the first half, with points from Nicholas Treanor, Dónal Hahessy and Neil McAdam seeing us change ends level at 0-3 apiece. Dónal added a brace of points from play just after the restart, but we were unable to push on and Blayney hit back to draw level. Fearghal McMahon regained our lead briefly, only for Blayney to hit the only goal of the game from a penalty. Dónal added another two points to his tally to keep us within striking distance, but despite having possession at the death, we were unable to break down the Faughs’ defence to get a late equaliser and we exited on a 0-8 to 1-6 scoreline. Thanks to the players, the management team of Cathal McAnenly, Michael Buckley and Declan McStravick and everyone involved this year.

Team and scorers: Ashley White; Niall Hahessy, Conor Galligan (Capt.), Gareth Treanor; Dean Fanning, Kevin Loughran, Michael Galligan; Stephen Driver, Aodhán Óg McAnespie; Shane Smyth, Nicholas Treanor (0-1f), Éimhín Morahan; Neil McAdam (0-1), Dónal Hahessy (0-5, 3f), Fearghal McMahon (0-1f).

Sub: Gary White for Smyth (inj., 4 mins), Nicholas Scott for Morahan, Liam Hahessy for N Treanor (both 43), John Mulligan for Fanning (inj., 53).

Tráth na gCeist: We host a Tráth na gCeist in our clubhouse this Friday (November 11) at 9pm. This will be a bilingual quiz, with the questions asked as Gaeilge agus as Béarla, and everyone is welcome to come along for a night of sport agus spraoi. Bígí linn!

Congratulations: And best wishes to senior team selector Michael Buckley and Caoimhe Trappe, who got married last weekend.

Next up is Scór na nÓg on Saturday week, November 19. Ádh mór oraibh!

History social night: As part of compiling a club history, we hosted a social night in the clubhouse on Friday, October 28. Thanks to everyone who attended and shared their memories of the club and to Harry Hughes, Hugh Kearns, Mickey Treanor and Peter Daly for contributing to an interview with Enda Galligan that was shown on the night. We hope to host a repeat of this reminiscence evening: keep an eye on club notes for more details.
