Junior Championship Final
The excitement is slowly building in the villages and surrounding areas as the countdown is on for Sundays final with Blackhill. Drumhowan is the venue and a strong support will be necessary to cheer the boys to victory. All the long training sessions and hardy battles on the field will hopefully be rewarded come Sunday evening. Best of luck to the team and management and sure if it all goes to plan there mightn’t be a cow milked in the parish on Sunday evening.
Monster Prize Draw
The monster draw ticket sellers have resumed their task and are back navigating the highways and byways of the county and further afield. The clock is ticking down so if you haven’t purchased your ticket yet you have no chance of collecting any of the €15000 in prize money. Anyone can purchase a ticket from any committee member so don’t be shy.
The Big Breakfast
The big breakfast is back on Saturday morning the 8th of October from 9am in the complex. This year all funds raised will be divided with Debra Ireland and the players training fund. Don’t miss the chance to see and experience the culinary skills of our senior squad. Rumours are circulating that some of the waiters have been seen trying on very revealing outfits in order to boost the takings. You wont know if you don’t go !!!
Senior Team
A scrappy affair last Sunday lunchtime with Eire Og finally secured a semi final spot in the league campaign. Trailing for most the game the team dug deep to steal the victory by the slimmest of margins. The march continues.
U10’S
Our U10’s travelled to Gavan Duffy Park on Saturday last to take part in the Mick Farrell Cup and Shield tournament. Our 15 strong team racked up wins against Mullahoran , Drumhowan and Aghabog to reach the shield final. The final was to be a rematch against Drumhowan. Unfortunately our winning run was brought to end but the boys played their hearts out and the tears and sad faces at the final whistle showed how much the day meant to them. A huge thank you to Monaghan Harps for the invite and compliments to the organisers for an excellent day. Good luck to all the U10’s who will now move on the U12 squad and we look forward to seeing the rest back in the new year.
