Maguire Transport Minor Football Championship Division One Final
Corduff 2-10 Aughnamullen 1-8 2/10/16
Corduff made history on October 2 by winning in their Maguire Transport Minor Football Championship Division One Final appearance, completing a double in the process.
A Fionn O’Callaghan goal and four points from Fergal Hanratty had Corduff in command at half-time (1-7 to 0-4), but Aughnamullen rallied after the restart, with Man of the Match Micheál Bannigan scoring 1-1 in the space of a minute to close the gap to two. Corduff steadied the ship, however, with a second major when Dylan Finnegan got the last touch after a goalmouth scramble. Corduff went 18 minutes without scoring down the home straight, but they held their opponents at arm’s length and they hit the last point to end up with five to spare.

Corduff 2-13 Magheracloone 0-12
Corduff had earlier achieved another historic first when they won the MFL Division One Cup Final against Magheracloone in Aughnamullen on Tuesday, August 30. Goals by Cillian Marron and Dylan Finnegan proved decisive for Corduff, as they repeated their MFC semi-final win over their south-Monaghan rivals.
Magheracloone enjoyed plenty of possession throughout, but they were left to rue 13 wides, including nine in a first half that also saw them fail to convert a few goal chances. An improved showing from Corduff – led by Fergal Hanratty, Seán McEnaney and Seán Burns – saw them outscore Magheracloone by eight points to two in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Corduff then conceded three in quick succession, but they responded with 1-1 in added time to end the challenge of a Paudie McMahon-inspired Magheracloone.
