Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 29th August 2016

Lotto Results-Numbers drawn on Monday 29th August were 16-8-11-12,Bonus 5 . No Jackpot winner . The €20 winners were M. Riley,Cootehill,Patrick Conlan,Latton,Alice Forde,Latton ,Jin Cosgrove,Cootehill,Bernadette Gaffney,Cootehill.

U6’s

Out U6’s finished up training yesterday evening for the Season .We would sincerely like to thank our Coaches this year Owen Hamilton, Brenda Rice,Paul Byrne and Sean Culleton together with Parents who helped out in training .Thanks to parents and most especially to our boys and girls who have come on in leaps and bounds over the season

U8’S & U10’s

Well done to all kids who took part in our Blitz last Saturday and to all those who helped out on the day.

U14’s

Well done to our U14’s Division 1 Team who defeated Monaghan Harps in League Semi Final on Monday 29th August on a scoreline of Latton 2-15 – Monaghan Harps 2-13. Good luck in the Final.

Our Division 5 Team play Emyvale in the Shield final on Saturday 10th September against Emyvale in Castleblayney at 12.00pm.

U15’S

Good luck to our U15 team who represent Monaghan in Ulster Blitz this Saturday in Aughnamullen.

U16 Football Championship

Latton’s Division 2 Championship Final v Emyvale is fixed for 10th September at 2.30 in Castleblayney with The Laegue Semi Final being set for September 13th.

Minor Football League

Connolly Meats Division 3 League Final Tuesday 23rd August 2016 Latton 1-11 Sean Mc Dermott’s 2-07 Latton opened up the score with a Niall Maguire Point quickly followed up by a further point & Goal from Niall Maguire a Cathal Lennon point to leave Latton 1-03 – 0.00 after 11 Minutes . Sean Mc Dermott’s settled into the game well with 2 quick points. Shane Duffy was then on the mark for Latton . Seans battled back and were rewarded with a goal and a point to le…ave a single point between the teams.2 points for Latton from Conor Mc Cabe & Liam Quinn left a goal between the sides. Sean’s hit back in the 27th minute with a second goal to level the match. Cathal Lennon hit the last point of the 1st half to leave the minimum between the sides at the interval. Latton 1-07 –Sean Mc Dermott’s 2-03. Seans started the 2nd half strongest with 3 points to leave them ahead by a two.Latton settled with 2 points from Shane Duffy & Dylan Quinn to level the game in the 40th Minute. 2 Conor Mc Cabe points put Latton ahead by 2 in the50th Minute .Sean’s were awarded a penalty which was excellently saved by Liam Quinn. Sean’s hit back again with a point in the 45th Minute however Latton managed to hold out for a single point win on scoreline Latton 1-11 – Sean Mc Dermotts 2-07.

The Minor team play Championship Final this Sunday 4th September at 5.45 in Aghabog against Sean Mc Dermotts.Lets get behind our Minors.

Senior Championship

Latton travelled to Castleblayney last Sunday to Play Clontibret in the Senior Championship. After a close game in which bith teams gained the upper hand on different occasions Latton were defeated on a scoreline of Latton 1-14 –Clontibret 2-13. See Full Report elsewhere.

Latton play Magheracloone in the Laegue at home on Saturday 3rd September at 6.00pm.

latton Ladies

Congratulations to Latton Senior Ladies who won the Junior Championship Final last Sunday with a very comprehensive win against Carrickmacross. Well done to all the girls to their Management of Seamus Coyle & Mark Hughes and to their back room team.
