Previous weeks have seen the takings in the lotto drop significantly; a lot of you know this is our main source of income. This is a very simple way to keep the club running and all we ask is that all players and members make an effort and try and take part in our lotto. All envelopes can be dropped into either of the 2 shops, chip shop or either of the 2 pubs in the village
Senior’s
Junior Champioship
Last Saturday we headed to Cremartin to take on Toome in the quarter final of the Championship and I think the less said about this game the better. It turned out to be a bad day in the office for all so it’s a matter of moving on and getting preparation as we aim to grab a semi-final spot in the league. Next up is an away game V Oram. Date and time to be confirmed
Minor’s
All roads lead to Drumhowan this coming Sunday as the Minors take on Carrickmacross in the Div2 Championship final. This should be a very close and tough encounter but I’m sure the management team of Raymond Leonard and James Marrow will have the lads ready for the task in-hand. Best of luck to all and let’s get as many supporters out to help them across the line.
U6’s
Eire Og U6 boys & girls took the short trip to Killeevan last Saturday morning for a blitz with the home team, Clones and Tyholland. The emphasis was on fun, movement and interaction in what was a fabulous morning of football. The score in the matches?? Who cares, no one kept score. The result that was important was the smiles on all of the boys & girls faces as they tucked in to some goodies supplied at the end which hopefully helped to revive tired limbs. Killeevan deserve great credit for their excellent organisation and we were treated to plentiful refreshments after the games.
Parish league
The club will be holding our annual parish league on the 24th of September at 2pm. We will be holding various skills competition’s and matches threw out the day and we hope to make it a family fun day out. There will be a disco and presentation that evening in the complex from 7 to 9.
Ladies
Massive congratulations to our U14 girls who were victorious over Scotstown in the Div2 Championship final on Monday Last. It’s a fantastic achievement for the both players and Managers; Stephen kerr and Mel Monaghan.
The club would like to say well done to all, it’s fantastic to see our ladies perform so well in all age groups and it shows all the hard work being done with our underage is starting to show the rewards.
All Ireland final tickets
The club are raffling 2 tickets for this year’s all Ireland final with tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 and are available from any committee members or players. Over the next couple of days the club will be sending representatives out around the house’s and we would as always appreciate your support.
Sympathy
The club would like to extend its deepest sympathy to the McGeough and Murphy family on the death of Packie Mc Geough, Smithboro and also to the Rooney family Gransha on the death of Paddy Rooney.
