Under 16 Div 3 Shield Final .St Tiarnachs(Clones- Killeevan) 04:14 Doohamlet 4:08

Played at Clontibret in wet conditions both teams played some excellent football throughout .After the first quarter the sides were level but aided by the breeze St Tiernachs had established a good lead at half team with excellent scores from Jamie McQuillan, Alan Corley and a goal from Kevin Reilly. However in the 2nd half Doohamlet asked serious questions and the excellent midfield play of Evan Quigley and man of the match Rian Kierans kept St Tiernachs in front in what was a very entertaining game. This was a great way for the lads to finish the year and both the lads and their management deserve great credit for the way they have conducted themselves all year. Well done lads. Team: Jamie Scott, Simon O Connell, Kevin Coogan, Aiden Doherty, Conal Smith, Evan Quigley, Rian Kierans, Kevin Reilly, Alan Corley, Maitiu Monaghan, Jamie McQuillan. Subs Reagan Graham, Ben Slowey, Harry Cleary, Niall McKenna, Shane Potter, Eanna Kilpatrick, James Donnaghy, Dwayne Reavey

Senior Championship

Had a great win over a very resolute Drumhowan side on Friday night in Emyvale. As was the case in the previous round there was nothing easy for either side as Clones fought to the bitter end to finish up victors on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-13. Drumhowan started well before Adrian Alford responded with Clones first point after seven minutes. James Mealiff and Colm Connolly added to this before both sides exchanged points with Adrian Alford getting another point to leave it at 0-04 to 0-04 after 16 minutes. It was clear from this stage that there would be very little in it. Drumhowan then had three unanswered points to lead 0-07 to 0-04 before a great Clones rally saw them score 5 points in a row with Ryan Rooney, Fabian Beggan and three points from Adrian putting them in at half time 0-9 to 0-7 up. Clones started the 2nd half well with Fabian Beggan getting a point to lead by three but Drumhowan quickly responded with a goal and a point to take a one point lead. Points from Adrian Alford and Sarto Quigley put Clones ahead again before an absolutely brilliant chip from Sarto put Clones up by four on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-08. Drumhowan got the next three scores however and this set up a frantic finish. A point apiece for Adrian and Sarto were answered by points by Drumhowan but this was enough for the lads to see it out and progress to a semi-final against Sean McDermotts in Scotstown on the 25th of September at 4pm. This Saturday the lads take on Toome down in Toome at 6pm in the next round of the league cup competition. A win here will secure our place in the semi-finals so hopefully the lads can achieve this. Best of Luck lads.

Please make an effort to support all our teams

Senior Championship Semi Finals

The Senior Championship semi-finals take place in Clones this coming Sunday and we are looking for volunteers to steward. The first game is at 3pm so if we had stewards there from 2.30 it would be greatly appreciated.
