Monster Prize Draw
All sellers are now in full swing and its like a military operation combing the roads for willing punters. If our band of volunteers would happen to call at your door, please take time to consider a purchase. The top prize of €10000 would be a welcome gift and if you’re not in you can’t win.
Senior Team
The Junior league resumed with a home tie against Oram last Sunday. With injuries and some players unavailable the team took on a new look. Goalkeeper and Club Secretary , Conor McElvaney steeped into the breech as cover for Murt Cleere and Ryan Connolly. The game was tough and both sides went at the task with great gusto. The Seans made some nice scores and slowly crept into a lead in the first half which they would not relinquish. A five point advantage at half time gave the home team the benefit in the second period. The visitors did not give up easily and remained a constant threat up to the final whistle. The Seans had four points to spare in the end. Martin Kieran boosted the home support as he took part in the final few minutes of the game. His return marked a great recovery from what looked like a season ending injury. Next up Toome at home on Sunday.
U12’s
Our U12’s bowed out of the shield semi-final with defeat by Aghabog on Saturday last. It was a rip roaring game of guts and determination however the battle was fought in awful rain and wind. That asides the young guns stuck to their task and toiled bravely however they came up shy in the end. This marks the moving on of some of the players to the next age group and we wish them well.
As a treat for the squad, they were taken to Croke Park on Monday for trip around the museum and sky walk. A big thank you to mentors, Peadar McGuiness and Conor McElvaney who organised the outing and all the wee extras on the day. The reaction was immense and team had a terrific time.
