Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship Round 3B
Scotstown v Truagh, Saturday, 6.00, Clontibret
Clontibret v Latton, Sunday, 1.45, Castleblayney
The last two SFC semi-final places are up for grabs this weekend.
First up is a north-Monaghan derby between Scotstown and Truagh in Clontibret on Saturday. Scotstown have had wins over Doohamlet and Carrickmacross, either side of a surprise loss to Latton, so far in their bid to retain the title, while Truagh followed up a win over Castleblayney with a disappointing defeat against Ballybay. Truagh have had a decent league campaign to date, with a narrow recent win for Scotstown moving them clear of their neighbours into second place, but they will need a big improvement from last week.
Scotstown are without Conor McCarthy, but they can call on the likes of Darren and Kieran Hughes, Shane Carey, Rory Beggan and Dónal Morgan, while the absence of Daniel and Paudie McKenna means Truagh will need Christopher McKenna, Niall Feely, Adam and Rory Treanor on top form and they will hope that John McCarron is fit to play.
Clontibret and Latton clash in Castleblayney on Sunday.
Having lost to Ballybay in the first round, wins over Doohamlet and Monaghan Harps have Clontibret back on course, while Latton got the better of Carrickmacross and Scotstown, before being edged by Magheracloone. Clontibret are in mid-table in the league, where Latton have struggled and currently sit second from bottom.
Conor McManus has been in prolific form for Clontibret, who will also hope for big displays from Dessie Mone, Vincent Corey, Conor Boyle and Brian and Colum Greenan. Owen Duffy, Hugh McElroy, Owen Coyle, Aidan Farmer and Stephen McCabe are among the main men for Latton, who are without Kieran Duffy.
McElvaney Waste & Recycling Intermediate Football Championship Round 1B
Cremartin v Emyvale, Saturday, 4.15, Clontibret
Cremartin and Emyvale put their IFC hopes on the line in Clontibret on Saturday.
Cremartin lost to Currin after a replay in the first round, while Emyvale were beaten by Rockcorry. There is little to pick between these teams on league form, with Cremartin on 13 points from as many games and Emyvale on 15 from the same number of games. Emyvale had a two-point win away to Cremartin, while the teams played out a draw in the return fixture earlier this month.
Cremartin have been without Johnny McGuigan and Barry Kerr, increasing their dependence on Patrick McGuigan, Patrick McNally and Niall Flanagan, while Emyvale will need big performances from the likes Ryan McAnespie, David McAlister, Daniel McMahon, James Bellew and Karl McQuaid.
