Silver Hill Foods Senior Hurling Championship Shield Final

Castleblayney 3-15 Clontibret 1-7

 Fergal Rafter and Jason McAndrew

Castleblayney won the SHC Shield for the first time with a comfortable victory over Clontibret in Sunday’s curtain-raiser. Blayney led from start to finish, with goals by Hugh Byrne and Fintan Finnegan helping them go 2-8 to 0-2 up at half-time, by which stage Clontibret had been reduced to 14 men after Arthur Morgan was sent off. Blayney captain Fergal Rafter hit 1-2 in the third quarter to extend his team’s advantage and although Feargal O’Dowd got a consolation goal for Clontibret, the result had long been decided.
