Ballybay Club Notes

Results: On Friday evening the senior team suffered defeat to Castleblayney in the last outing before the championship. There was a number of great induvial displays on the night but Blayney just had that little bit extra in the final stages to secure victory. Management will be disappointed with certain aspects from the game but will be concentrating hard on championship football. Full time score Castleblayney 2-15 Ballybay 2-13.

Fixtures: On Tuesday the 16th of August the St Pats minor team host Monaghan Harps for the next round of fixtures in the Division 1 shield at 7pm. On Saturday the 13th of August the U14 team travel to Tyholland for the Division 4 shield, throw up at 12noon. Please come out and support the lads.

Keep the date: Keep free Sunday 21st of August as the Ballybay team will face Traugh in the second round of the Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship. Venue and time still to be confirmed so please keep an eye on club notes and social media for additional info.

The annual big clean takes place this Saturday the 13th of August from 10am. This is a great opportunity for the club to get some maintenance and tidying done around the grounds while having a laugh as you go. It would be great to get a large number out to help as many hands makes light work. Please try come along & if you have a shovel, brush, wheelbarrow etc the feel free to bring them also.

Best wishes and congratulations Tony Keenan and his new wife who recently tied the knot. We wish them all the best in the future and many years of happiness and joy together.

Congratulations to Monsignor McSorley who along with his brother and the rest of the 1946 Tyrone minor team where presented with special tokens in commemoration of their All Ireland Minor Final appearance. This is a wonderful achievement and its great so see so many of the team in the photos of the event. Congratulations Monsignor.

Best of luck to Cian Sherry and Conor McArdle who will represent the club in the Games Development Committee an Activity Day for players who are 12 years of age (born 2004) in Croke Park on Monday the 15th of August. The lad’s names where picked from a hat in the fairest way possible

Bingo: Just a quick note to remind everyone that the club’s weekly Bingo takes place every Tuesday night at 9pm in the clubhouse. The bingo is a great opportunity for the community to come together midweek and have a good night while maybe even winning a few bob. This is a fundamental part of the club’s fund raising for day-to-day costs and we would all really appreciate if you, your friends or your family could support this if you can at all. And, don’t forget, there is transport available to the centre. Every week, our volunteers go to great efforts to keep this going so that all of the other voluntary members of the club have a good starting platform. Hope to see some new faces tomorrow night and over the coming weeks.

If you would like to get items into the club notes please contact Niall Duffy by 8pm on Monday evening and he’ll gladly include.
