MC ELVANEY’S WASTE & RECYCLING INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP:
SENIORS: Played in the Championship Round 1B against Kilanny on Friday evening last. We got off to a slow start but came out tops on a score line of Aughnamullen (0-09) To Kilanny (0-06). They now play Donaghmoyne in round 2B on Sunday the 4th of September. check fixtures for venue and time.

MINORS DIVISION 1: Our next Big game is not until October 2nd when we play Corduff in the Division 1 Championship. Training continues as usual.

U16’s: Our boys played Scotstown on thursday last with the game ending in a draw on a score line of Aughnamullen (4-15) To Scotstown (5-12). They now take on Castleblayney in the RR4 at home this evening Thursday the 25th at 7pm. Support these young lads.
KEEP FREE: A date has been set for the Championship Final. It will be on Saturday the 10th of Sept. No Venue as yet.
U14’s: No date has been set as yet for the Final. training continues as usual.

CARRICKATEE WINDFARM COMMUNITY FUND:
The residents of the above group at a meeting last week received 2k annually for five years to the following each four organisations: Loughmourne NS , Preschool , Solas Unit and Aughnamullen GFC. There is a further 2k fund which local groups/organisations can apply to by ringing Steven Drury of Gaeltech Energy on 086-1500258 immediately in order to be considered.
The windmills will be turned on by the end of August or early in September.
CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Dereck Mc Connon who has been appointed by Croke Park to the new full time position of Administrative Officer of Monaghan GAA. Dereck served the Aughnamullen Club with distinction for many years as PRO and in later years he was the highly efficient Youth Fixtures Sceretarry for Monaghan County Board. Best wishes Dereck to a long successful career.
