Monaghan Electrical IFL: A crazy action packed cracker of a game was played on Sunday against Rockcorry. We had a very slow start and Ryan McKenna was first to put a score on the board in the 17th minute with a point from play. Pauric Finnans 2 points and Dermie Coyles point were quickly answered back by Rock leaving us trailing behind at half time; Tyholland 0-4 Rockcorry 1-10. The second half proved to be much more eventful we picked up the pace and Dermie Coyles goal in the 2nd minute was met with a massive applause and cheers from the Tyholland supporters. 5 points followed from Dermie, Niall Askin, Shane Treanor and Ryan (Gooch) McKenna. At 23 minutes the tensions were running high with a scoreline of Tyholland 1-10 to Rockcorrys 1-13,after a selection of coloured cards were given out Rockcorry were down to 13 men. Gary McQuaid quickly took advantage of this taking possession and scoring a fine point, the ball was no sooner kicked out than Karl O’Connell managed to bury it straight into the back of the net! When Rockcorry lost another man and were now down to 12 we all believed Tyholland had managed to scrape through with a win, however despite the best efforts of Tyhollands defence a last minute penalty for Rockcorry ended this. Final score was Tyholland 2-11 Rockcorry 2-13! The next match is the first round of the Championship so be sure to be there to support them!
