SILVER HILL FARM SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL.
Inniskeen 4-21, Carrickmacross HC 0-3.
A sharper, more clinically incisive Inniskeen experienced little difficulty in booking their place in the final of the Silver Hill Farm sponsored senior hurling championship for the 7th year in a row when they proved too strong in practically every department for a young and relatively inexperienced Carrickmacross HC in what was a fairly one sided contest in Emmet Park, Carrickmacross, on Thursday evening last. While Inniskeen won comfortably the final score line probably does not reflect the effort that Carrickmacross through the likes of Jamie Guinan and Luke McKenna, put in particularly in the second-half but always against superior forces where the main difference between the sides was the clinical finishing of Ronan Meegan and Tadgh Campbell, who accounted for 2-15 of Inniskeen’s total between them. Inniskeen were never headed in the entire contest after opening with a goal and they were comfortably ahead at the break by 11 points thanks in part to 2 goals by Tadgh Campbell. They consolidated in the second-half with Carrickmacross failing to raise even a single white flag although they were also forced to play the final quarter with 14 players following the dismissal of Ronan Curran on a 2nd yellow card.
