McKeown Cup Semi Final Result: Carrickmacross 4-10 Aghabog 0-12

Three early goals left us with a mountain to climb in this game. The lads battled hard and there was only four points in it at half time and well into the second half, but Carrick finished the stronger to run out convincing winners in the end. We were due to play Clones in our final league game last night Wednesday.

JFL: We are due to play Oram this Sunday at 2pm in Aghabog. This is the final game in the first round of the league and a win will secure our place in the top 6 and a place in the Dr Ward Cup side of the competition. We had a good win over Oram in the Championship recently but that will count for little on Sunday and we will need to be at our best to get the right result.

Minor: We had our first outing since the exams last Tuesday in Scotshouse against Inniskeen and emerged with a good win on a scoreline of 5-12 to 3-10. Our next league game is away to Clann na Gael on Tuesday 26th July at 7:30pm in Toome.

U16: We lost to Tyholland in the Championship recently. We finished joint top of the table in a four way tie with ourselves, Tyholland, Eire Og and Clann na Gael all level on 10 points. Check with management when next game is scheduled.

U14: Next game is against Drumhowan on 30th July at 12pm in Drumhowan.

U12: We are due to play the Sean’s on Saturday 23rd July at 12pm in Aghabog.

Congratulations: To former player and our club webmaster, Fergal Greenan, who got married last weekend to Sinead Carolan.

50th Anniversary:
We send good wishes to our Hon. Life President, Fr. Michael McGourty, who celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on recently.

Ladies Notes:

U14 semi-final:  We were defeated in our league semi-final recently after an entertaining game against our neighbours, the Seans. This game went down to the wire with only 2 points separating the teams at the final whistle. Hard luck to the girls who have worked so hard all year. We now await the Championship draw.

U16: We were away to St. Bridgets on Monday 18th July. On Wednesday 3rd August, we are home to Inniskeen at 7pm

Emmet Og Minors: On Thursday 28th July, we play ONeills at home at 7pm

Emmet Og Seniors: On Sunday 31st July we play O’Neills at home at 12. Then on Friday 5th August we travel to the Harps for the first round of the Championship. Throw in 7:30pm.

Thanks: A big thanks to all the people who helped out on our recent flag day. This was a success but only because of the help from parents/players
