Junior Football League
Our latest round of the league was a home fixture against, local rivals Killeevan. On the back of the recent defeat to Blackhill, the wounds were still smarting and were sure to be the necessary motivation for a home victory. The blazing sun done nothing to stem the pace that both sides started at. However the Seans crept into the lead early in the first and half and would not relinquish it for the duration of the game. Killeevan counter attacked on a number of occasions with very successful results, grabbing a goal and a number of points against the run of play. Half time came and went and the home team stayed in front , albeit by a penalty save by Murt Cleere. Points from Adam O Driscoll and Niall Kearns kept the scoreboard ticking over however nervous moments in the twilight of the second half made for an exciting finish. The Seans were victorious in the end and march on in the league.
