Sean McDermotts 1-11, Blackhill 1-9.
Sean McDermotts mounted a strong rearguard action in the final stages of this free-flowing and very entertaining Crawley Cup final that was played in excellent conditions in Rockcorry on Saturday evening last, to clinch victory in a hectic closing finale. This was a very evenly balanced contest all through but Sean McDermotts were that bit more adept on counter attacks with their full forward line accounting for 1-6 of their total while the Blackhill full forward line failed to register one white flag between them. The sides were level 3 times in a closely contested first half at the end of which they went in on equal terms but by the end of the third quarter Sean McDermotts had opened a five points lead thanks in part to a goal from a penalty. Blackhill struck back for a goal almost immediately to reduce the margin to 2 and they had the margin at two points twice in the closing stages but could not engineer that vital breakthrough for the goal they needed to turn it around completely with Sean McDermotts holding out for a two points victory.
