Drumhowan Notes

Eurotech JFL  – last Sunday Drumhowan took  on Toome in Round 7 of the League. With the good weather a fair crowd was in attendance at Páirc Mhic Eoin  to witness Drumhowan’s second victory in the trot. Kevin Mooney opened the scoring with a point in the 1st minute. Scores in the 1st half also came  from Kieran Mooney,  Mark Mc Cabe , David Millar and Niall Mooney with the goal coming  from  Mark Mc Cabe on the strike of half time  to leave the score Drumhowan 1-8 Toome  0-8 at the break. This was a cushion Drumhowan kept for most of the second half with John Paul O Neill and Anthony Mulligan also getting in on the scoring. Toome pulled it back to two points in the third minute of injury time but sub Colm Lambe  made sure of the victory when he scored a goal from the penalty spot deep into injury time  to leave five in it. Then Kevin Mooney hit over a point in the ninth minute of injury time to leave the full time score Drumhowan 2-16 Toome 0-16.    ( The ref  didn’t record this score!)  Team and scorers:  Enda Duffy, Paddy Mulligan(c), Liam Mc Guirk, Barry Mc Guirk, Niall Mooney 0-1, Ciarán Duffy, Conor Duffy, Anthony Mulligan 0-1, JP O’ Neill 0-1, Mark Mc Cabe 1-2 (1f) Kevin Mooney 0-4, Michael Atkinson, Paul Mc Guirk, Kieran Mooney 0-5(2f), David Millar 0-2 Subs used: Colm Lambe 1-0 (pen) for Paul Mc Guirk, Kieran Mc Elroy for  Michael Atkinson, Darren Duffy

The next game in the league won’t be till the end of June against Oram

Universal Graphics JFC  –  Drumhowan will enter the championship this Friday night the 3rd of June   when they take on Aghabog in Cremartin at 7.45 All support welcome.

Platinum Tanks RFL Div 2 – Drumhowan played out an entertaining draw with Rockcorry last Wednesday night the 25th of May. in Páirc Mhic Eoin with the full time score line  0-13  apiece. Next game is at home to Tyholland on Sunday 12th June.

County Minors – Well done to Owen Quinn and the rest of the minors who had a good victory over Down in the Ulster MFC at the weekend. Donegal will provide the opposition later in June after the exams.

 Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Div 3   – We were due to play Clontibret in the championship on Tuesday May 31st away. Clontibret are also the same opposition again on bank holiday Monday evening next  the 6th of June in Drumhowan at 7.30 in the second half  of the league.

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U12 Div 3  – The U12s lost out to a stronger Cremartin side on Saturday last on a full time scoreline  Drumhowan  4 – 6 Cremrtin 7-5. Despite the defeat the team still put up a good performance and have plenty to build upon. Next match is away to Aughnamullen on Saturday June 11th at noon.
U10 Community games – The parish Tullycorbett side went under by 3 points to Carrick in Blackhill on Monday evening last in the semi final of the competition. This was a thrilling game with very little separating the two sides. Full time scoreline was Tullycorbett  2-7 Carrick 4-4 The boys can be proud of their efforts and the improvements they have made during the competition. A special thanks to the management team of Brendan Treanor, Martin Sheridan, Peter Ward and Terry Duffy for all their work with the boys over the past 6 weeks. You have all done the parish proud.
U8  –  The next Go games Blitz takes place in Rockcorry on Saturday June 11th at 10am. The next Under 10 one is the following Saturday 18th also in Rockcorry.
Bank Holiday Monday – Please note no Under 6/8/10 training on Monday next.
Cul Camps: The Cul Camps are taking place in Ballybay starting Monday 18th of July, this year. The Monaghan GAA Coaching and Development Team are looking to get the numbers confirmed as early as possible, the children will be getting forms through the schools over the next few weeks and we would encourage parents to return them as early as possible. Sports Day in conjunction with the community group will take place on Sunday the 19th of June. More details to follow.
